The Perfect Frame is in its last moments of production. This is definitely the most difficult and time consuming production that I have ever written and directed. However, I do think it’s the best narrative movie that I have made to this day.
This project was my final project for one of my film classes here at San Diego State. I

That’s right, Eclectic 2.0 was shown in Times Square on Wednesday, April 9th about 40 times. The guys over at Clear Channel Spectacolor were showing off their amazing high definition screen and chose Eclectic 2.0 as part of their showcase. The billboard is on the corner of 47th street and Broadway. To hear the audio, you can even call a phone number and listen to the audio on your mobile phone! Special thanks to Mike McGraw, VP of Specatcolor Development, and Greg Palka, videographer/photographer who filmed the screen for me.
What is it, you ask? Well, it is the most visual effects intensive movie I have ever taken on, it incorporates some time lapse sequences, and it is the final project for my filmmaking class at San Diego State. I’m trying to be as secretive as possible for this one, because I am going for “spectacle on a budget”.
I can say, however, that we will be shooting digital HD on a Sony F-350 XDCAM camera and that the basicplot is about a man who lives in a black and white world discovers color images. There is a little sub-plot that goes along with it, but I’m saving that for May.
Stay tuned for details. I will surely let you know…If you subscribe at the top.
Hello everyone…
I just wanted to write and let everyone know that I’m still alive and am updating the site whenever I have news. Here are some general updates:
Since I am in college, I’m right in the thick of school and boy has it ever been busy. I just recently pitched a movie idea to my film production class, and it’s going to go into production. In general terms, it’s about a man

Well, everyone asked, and now, I’ve finished a video detailing how I made some of the shots in my movie. I split the movie into two parts. The first part being some of the back story, and the equipment that I use, and the second part is how I use the software. Hopefully this video explains a lot of the questions you have. If not, just use the contact form to contact me.

Hah, just kidding…I just finished day 5, and boy was it a day.
Today I was seriously considering quitting and going to the closest place I could find food. Then I remembered that I’m so far into the fast that if I ate something now I would either throw it up or get diarrhea. Your question now might be…Do you have that cleansed euphoric feeling yet? And the answer would be no, haha. I’m really hoping that it comes soon.
I may sound like I am completely miserable right now, but in fact it’s not THAT bad. I don’t feel hungry too much any more. When I do get hungry, all I have to do is take a sip of the lemonade mixture and the hunger is gone. I think the worst part of it is that I’ve been habitually eating 3 meals a day for my whole life. And to all of a sudden stop is kind of hard to break. One of my roommates would be cooking something in the kitchen and I would be very tempted to just walk in there and eat ANYTHING.
I guess more than the fact of “cleansing”, this diet is kind of a test of will power, because I’m not doing this diet for any specific reason…just to see what happens.

Since I redesigned my website I now have a place to talk about things that have been going on. Back in December, I was featured in an issue of Popular Mechanics. The article was about how technology is so advanced now that even the average Joes can go out and create stunning art.
Somehow the writer of this article, Claire Martin, came across my website and liked my first Eclectic movie a lot. I must say, that it was very cool and I now have the article framed in my room.

Back in December ‘07 my group and I created a short little movie through our filmmaking class at San Diego State. It was shot entirely on 16mm black and white negative. It was our first attempt at 16mm film production. We shot the entire movie over the course of a weekend and spent about a weeks worth of work editing. One of my group members knew a musician who created the soundtrack. Thanks to everyone who helped out on this film.

So for the past 3 days my roommate Dang and I have been on this diet. I wouldn’t call it much of a diet as much as an experiment on myself.
The deal is that you cannot have any solid food for a minimum of 10 days. You are only allowed to drink tea, water, and this lemonade mixture of lemon juice, maple syrup, and Cayenne pepper.
The diet is very interesting. There are some points where I feel crappy, and then there are some points where I feel alright. The first two days I was hungry. Now I’m not so much hungry, but more craving food; as in I’ve been in the habit of eating for so long that it just feels like I should be eating something. Lunch time will come around and I’d think about what I’m going to eat for lunch, then I’d remember I can’t eat. It’s a very strange feeling.
People seem to have interesting reactions to me telling them that I’m on this diet. But more on that tomorrow.

Eclectic 2.0 is finally finished. Thanks to everyone who has subscribed and to everyone who has shown their appreciation for Eclectic “1.0″. This movie has been a brain-child of mine for about a year now, and I finally got a chance to create the right rigs and travel to interesting places to make this one come alive. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
The entire movie was shot using a digital SLR still camera and pieced together using Quicktime Pro and Final cut Pro. Since it was shot on a still camera, all the raw footage is 1080p HD. People always ask me how much time I spent shooting or how I made the time lapses. Well, on February 18th, I’m going to post The Making of Eclectic 2.0 in case any of you are curious about that. And you can sign up at the top of my website to be notified.
Also, I would like to send a HUGE thanks to Marlon and Mary of The Ghost Orchid. They provided the song that is used in the movie. They are an unsigned band out of the San Diego area who I came across on MySpace. Check them out, they are going to be releasing an album in February, and from the sound of it, it’s going to be good.

This film I created by myself. It is a series of time-lapse shots that I edited together and put to music. Rather than using a regular video camera, I opted to use a digital SLR camera because it allowed me to shoot in ultra high definition as well as get the depth of field only available to film cameras.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that the TC-80N3 doesn’t fit with the Canon Rebel, so I found this guy who makes a custom adapter for exactly this problem.

Following rave reviews from various members of The Force.net’s Fan Film Forum, our entry in the Lightsaber Choreography Competition placed 2nd out of 27 entries.
The idea for this film was simple; to make a visually pleasing lightsaber fight. We had to shoot this
